Rachel is proud to represent "Alabama the beautiful" in the Mrs. United States pageant. As a teacher, she is able to fulfill her life's passion everyday, which is to motivate and inspire others. Rachel has been married to her husband, Jarod, for four years, and is thankful everyday for being blessed with such a loving and supportive partner.
Rachel is a strong advocate and volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is a cause that is very near to Mrs. Alabama's heart, because she has had several people close to her that have been affected by these diseases. Rachel first became involved with the LLS when one of her kindergarten students was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of five. Even though this disease attacked his small body, her student's spirit was still as vibrant as ever. Rachel was so moved by this amazing child that she entered her first marathon to raise funding for the LLS. Soon after the marathon a close friend of Rachel's was also diagnosed with this unforgiving disease. Mrs. Alabama then pledged to spend her life advocating the LLS, and raising awareness about these diseases.
Rachel encourages everyone to live everyday to its fullest. Her favorite words to live by are "work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching"!
